Best : Kareem iliya

We know that there're a lot of (literally a lot) great and amazing fashion illustrator out there in the world. But everyone has their own favourite right? So for me, it's Kareem Iliya. When i first look at his work i was totally in awe of him. And i think his works are different from others illustrator which make him so unique.

For me, he has created images of great beauty and grace, appearing mysteriously from the white of the page with sinuous movement. He always created images with ofter vibrant colours which appeared to radiate from the page. However his aim is to create something graphic, yet soft and beautiful. Depending on the project, usually he combines watercolours, inks, pastels, and various textured papers along with working on Photoshop to manipulate the final image.

For him, successful fashion illustration is an image which grabs your attention and holds it, making you wish for you.

J. R. S

Jessica rae sommer!
She's an artist, interior designer and also fashion illustrator. She plays with the balance of what is beautiful, brutal, natural and unearthly. Her art takes after the style of fashion editorials, avant-garde potraits laced with undertones of fashion illustration. They are modern, emotional, expressive. It is delicately personal- a compulsive craving to expose the raw pulse deep within us. Her works are truly inspiring.

Check it out! :)

Ballpoint pen : Florian Meacci

week 8

Florian Meacci is a a French freelance illustrator based in London, UK who works on amazing fashion drawings using his ballpoint pens. After studying graphic design in France he landed in London and become a freelance illustrator. He said his 2 main inspirations in life are fashion and comic books. Comic books made him want to be an illustrator. His art is about contradiction, he always try to put something unexpected, something different. Usually his works are in black and white but sometimes he also use colour depends on the work itself. He loves to combine few things which are not made to be together and that's what made him so unique. I think his works are just perfect.

Tania Santos. Maybe she doesn't sound familiar, because she's another new born promising fashion illustrator from Portugal. I like her works especially the way she draw the model pose. Based in Portugal, she has a great skills in drawing the fashion poses with details. She took fashion design and was interested to learn illustration. Usually she use mix media for her illustration works such as marker, pencil colour, paint and etc. But Lately she's been in love with watercolors. Sometimes she does editing her work using photoshop or illustrator.

Sunny Gu for sunny day!

A Los Angeles-based fashion & beauty illustrator.  Sunny Gu. Born and raised in China, she moved to the United States when I was 13. After encountering people from different backgrounds, she became very curious about other cultures. She learned to observe and discover beauties in everything around me and wished to recreate them in someway so she become an illustrator and artist.

Most of her illustrations, paint in watercolor. She love the vibrancy and unpredictable nature of watercolor. She also use graphite or acrylic paint to render some special textures. Her illustrations are always full of vibrant colors, rich details and delightful feelings. Her work, on the other hand, is an endless journey searching for beauty, value, truth and self.

Hope you have a good weekends! :)

Laura Laine

week 3 :

One of my favourite fashion illustrator : Laura Laine is a Helsinki based illustrator. She went to University of Art and Design Helsinki to study design in fashion.  She decided to work full-time as an illustrator after she graduated. Now, she's also teaching illustration for fashion in various fashion or design schools. Focused on fashion illustration, she created awesome series of fashion drawings in exaggerated style. She draws with pencils, ink and markers and finally retouch the image in Photoshop. Her fine pencil sketching is hauntingly beautiful and I love her unique girly and fancy style of twisted-bodied and flowing-hair girls.
